4th Be Attitudes block finished

I finished the 4th Be Attitudes block at quilt guild this evening.
4th block finished
This is the September block (I'm working backwards, from December).  Only 6 more blocks to go.

My little quilt guild is very charity minded.  We are making quilts for the boys at 360 in Naperville.  There are 8 boys housed at a time, and we want to have at least 8 quilts ready by the December meeting.  At the beginning of the year, everyone decided that at least 8 ladies would take a month, and provide the material for their blocks.  Anyone who wanted to work on blocks that month, could take blocks, and bring the finished blocks back the next month.  I wasn't at the meeting when this started, so, I didn't get to sign up for a month.  Tonight, two different ladies had block kits ready.  One also taught a different applique tip to use in her block.  I now have 4 blocks to make before the next meeting.

  1. I love the owl, the colors you're using are so pretty are you pulling them together as you go? It sounds like the guild is keeping you busy without signing up for a month, maybe it's good you missed that meeting.

  2. Your blocks are turning out sew cute. I have been looking for an applique project and this one you are sharing is adorable. I love doing applique but it has been years since I have done a big project. I will have to look for this book. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Very cute. I just love the colors. Was this a kit or did you pull your own fabrics for this one?

  4. The Owl came out very nice. Your guild charity project sounds like a wonderful event - 4 blocks in 4 weeks - that is a block a week that is doable.

  6. Such a cute block...especially since I do love anything with Owls. Nice that you are getting to be a part of the 8 Boys quilt. You are so generous with your talents and time. Well done.

  7. It seems I am not the only one attracted by your fabric selection. If that owl is going to get smart, he needs to open his eyes.

  9. That is a lot of charity work to get done, but I know the quilts will be appreciated. I am unclear if the block in this post is one of the charity blocks.

My guild has a thriving charity program as well. We generally make 16 patch blocks, however, though occasionally there are other patterns. We do some interesting things with the simple pattern.
