Quilt Show and Vintage machine demo

My (large) quilt guild had their bi-annual quilt show this past weekend.  I had a hallway to set up my treadle and hand crank sewing machines.  I got to demo them.  I only sewed on two of them, the 1959 Singer Spartan (192K) hand crank and the 1896 Singer 15 treadle.  I couldn't get the tension adjusted on the 1889 Singer 27VSII treadle.  I did finally figure out how to wind bobbins on that machine on Friday.  The 1910 New Home A hand crank can't wind bobbins at this time.  I need a belt for it that fits.  I'll have to measure it and order one.  I never got a chance to sit down at the 1921 Singer 66 Redeye hand crank that I just finished converting.  I did get lots of chances to show off the removable 'table' on it.  So many people (both men and women) came to check out the machines.  The machines were a bigger hit than any of us expected.  I hope that I get to do this again at the next quilt show.

Free #5 treadle in parlor cabinet.  I haven't sewn on this yet.
A friend came to cover my booth so that I could check out the quilts.  I had to hurry, so, I didn't get to really check out the quilts and see who made most of them.  A friend made the quilt that won Best in Show.  I don't know if I got a picture of it or not.

I love Dresden plates

My friend, Mary, made this quilt.  Check out the blue ribbon.

  10. Thank you for sending the quilt show to my inbox! I might have missed it otherwise --- and I am so honored to have 7 quilt designs that people liked enough to MAKE and SHOW -- and for that I am so touched and grateful!

    Thanks again!

  11. That was a fabulous quilt show. Thanks so much for sharing with us. I feel like I was there in person. We just finished a 2 day show where I live and I didn't get to take many pictures. I'm sorry now that I didn't take more time to do that. I'm a teapot collector and quilter too and your name intrigued me.
