April RSC19 blocks

I finally got a chance to get some stitching done, and finished my April Aqua RSC19 blocks.  The blocks aren't nearly as dark as they look in the photo.

I haven't had a chance to stitch much this past week.  I've been cleaning my sewing room.  I've pulled 4 bags of stuff for the thrift store, another bag for the freebie table at my large quilt guild and a bag of blocks for the charity group at my large quilt guild.  I have leftover blocks from some projects, some are enough for a whole other quilt.  I also found blocks that I started years and years ago, and never finished (and don't really want to finish). Each set is enough for a whole quilt.  I just don't have the time to finish these myself.  I'm sure I'll find a whole lot more that needs to go out the door in the next month or two, as we get our house ready to sell.

April Stitching

Even though I haven't had time to blog, I have gotten some stitching done.

I finished one more block for the Harry Potter Project of Doom quilt.  I still have a couple more to embroider book titles on.

I've been working on the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit paper pieced blocks for my grandbaby that is due in August.  I'm making 2 of each block.

I've also gotten more embroidery done.  These are from the Miniature Sewing Machine quilt I'm working on.

I finished the RSC19 blocks for March.  I used them to teach how to web blocks for my little quilt guild at our April meeting.  I finally finished them this weekend.

I also made a pillowcase for a friend this weekend.  He is a runner.

I've pulled the Aqua fabrics for my April RSC19 blocks.  We'll see if I can get them done before the end of the month.

Camp Tuckabatchee Quilt Show part 2

The Camp Tuckabatchee quilt show had a featured quilter, Tana Sheets.  I've already shown her Judy Niemeyer quilt, here are some of her other quilts.

I was asked to bring some of my vintage sewing machines.  They always have some vintage machines on display at this show.

The first time I got to attend this quilt show, back in 2013, they had the Treadle Races.  I won!  In 2015, the Treadle Races didn't happen, due to a family emergency.  In 2017, they had the Treadle Races again (yep, I won again).  Well.......this was the last Treadle Race.  This time I 'raced' on my own treadle. (click on the highlighted words below.  Sorry, hubby and I couldn't figure out how to load the video to my Google photos).

I won!

Since my treadle was set up the whole weekend at the quilt show, I used the time to make my Fall Basic 4 patch exchange blocks for my Treadle On group.   For once, I'm ahead in getting blocks made.

Goodbye Camp Tuckabatchee Quilt Show.  I'll miss you!

Camp Tuckabatchee Quilt Show part 1

I've been attending the Camp Tuckabatchee quilt show for many years now.  In 2017, I was asked if I would like to join this group of quilters.  It's been a fun 2 years.  Sadly, it is coming to an end.  This is the last quilt show for Camp Tuckabatchee.

I took lots of pictures at the quilt show (no, I didn't take photos of all the quilts).  I'm going to break this up into a couple of blog posts due to the number of photos.  I'll apologize now for not getting the maker info on these quilts.  Bad me.

This post will show some of the winning quilts and also all the Judy Neimeyer of Quiltworx patterns that were entered in the quilt show.

Lets start with the raffle quilt.

No, I didn't win :(

The lady who made the raffle quilt also had several quilts in the show, including 1st & 2nd Place.

not sure if this is a Judy Niemeyer or not

Next are the Challenge quilts.  This year's challenge was 'Crazy Quilt'.  No rules, just our interpretation.

This quilt is very elaborate.  Well deserved win!

I wish I could have gotten better photos, to show the details in both the 1st & 2nd place winning entries.  Wonderful work in both.  Teeny tiny detail work in this next one.

3rd Place entry (mine)

Somehow I didn't get a photo of the 4th entry.  Sorry.

Here is the Judges Choice quilt.  It was made by the same lady who made the 1st Place Challenge quilt.

Here are some of the entries for 'other'.  There were only 4 categories in the quilt show.
1st Place, The Last Supper

2nd place is the red pillow

more in the 'other' category

The last category is for First Quilt.  There was only one entry this year, but it was a well deserved winning entry.
First quilt winning entry

Can you believe that this quilt was her first quilt?  Wool applique and precision piecing.

The last quilt is the Viewer's Choice winner.

I'll have more photos in the next blog post.
