I cleaned house and organized all last week because my future daughter in law was coming. Well, she arrived Saturday morning. It was a whirlwind visit. We all went to a birthday party on Saturday evening (Happy Birthday Victor! and no, not the new treadle). On Sunday was church, then 10 people for lunch at Red Robin. That took most of the afternoon. A youth choir came to our church that evening (great concert) and we were NOT scheduled to keep any of the teens this time. Well, guess what??? We kept 5 girls overnight. My living room was full of luggage (took 2 vehicles to get the luggage home, and I have a 7 passenger vehicle).

All 5 girls slept in the family room.

Up early for breakfast Monday morning, then back to the church with the girls. They were fun! Did I mention that we'd already taken 6 sleeping bags, 3 cots and 9 pillows to the church for the youth that stayed there? Thank goodness hubby and sons have lots of camp mats, too.
On Tuesday, I went to the Quilts of Valor sew-in in Yorkville.

Tuesday evening, we had 16 people in our backyard, eating lemongrass chicken kabobs. Almost 15 pounds of chicken. Yum! Everyone helped, so, I got to enjoy the evening, too.
On Wednesday, I got caught up on the computer. It was a great way to relax. Connor and Krystal headed out to Missouri before getting to Oklahoma.

I only remembered to pick up the camera this one time. Oops! We were just having too much fun to remember to take pictures.
Today (Thursday) was my regular sew-in day. I also stopped at a few garage sales before and after sew-in. I'll show my big 'score' in the next post. Yep, you have to wait! It deserves it's own post.
Tonight is quilt guild. Friday and Saturday, I work the Quilts of Valor booth at the Batavia quilt show. I'll get lots of pictures of the quilts. I think I get to breathe a couple of days next week. We'll see.
Oh my!! Well, you are a gracious host in all you do.
ReplyDeleteWhew! You are one busy lady! So glad all went well this past week for you. Now you have a clean house and can just concentrate on sewing....maybe! Have a great weekend - maybe this heat will break. ~Jeanne
