I've been slow stitching today. I finished stitching down the binding on a baby quilt.

hand stitching the binding |
Since the back is Minkee, I stitch the binding to the back of the quilt then hand stitch it to the front. It's much easier that way (at least for me). Here is the full quilt.

quilting from the back (color isn't true, sorry) |
I've also finished one of the '
We're On a Roll' toilet paper quilts. I hand quilted it. It was mailed off to my inlaws earlier this week. My father in law had a hard time finding toilet paper when this whole pandemic thing started. I thought they might get a laugh from the quilt.

1st TP quilt |
Remember my
ukulele from the last blog post? Well, I was asked to make one for someone who actually plays ukulele. I made this yesterday.

Our neighbors brought us some cookies. They've done this a couple of times before. They are yummy!
It's so nice of them to bring us cookies.
I'm linking up with Kathy's
Slow Stitching Sunday.
Such a pretty little baby quilt. And how kind of your neighbours to bring you some yummy home baking.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness what wonderful neighbours you have!
ReplyDeleteI love your baby quilt... great idea to attach binding to the back of a minkee quilt and stitch it down on the front.
Very pretty baby quilt and your in-laws will love the TP quilt. Those cookies look yummy!!! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteTHREE finished projects?! Well done. Lucky you... those cookies look delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is beautiful. Love those fabrics. Minky as the backing will make the quilt lovely and soft. Fabulous ukulele quilt, and I must admit I smiled at the sight of the toilet paper quilt.
ReplyDelete:( You are a no reply blogger, so I can't contact you. Thanks for the nice comments.
DeleteLove the baby quilt! What a fun TP quilt to gift.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric you used on the baby quilt. It looks so soft!
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is a beauty! Love your quilting on it too.
ReplyDeletePretty baby quilt, I don't think I have ever seen this pattern sewn in all one fabric. Nice to see something new/different.
ReplyDeleteLove your Baby quilt! Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is wonderful. I am sure the cookies were delicious, great neighbors!
ReplyDeleteI like your baby quilt! And the cookies look delicious. You have some nice neighbors.
ReplyDeleteLovely baby blanket, and with minky on the back it will be lovely and soft. Fun with the toilet roll quilt.
ReplyDeleteIn Norway there were also many who hoarded toilet paper when corona came. You do not need extra toilet paper even if you get corona sick, but maybe they were afraid that they could not go shopping in the store. :-)
You made a lovely baby quilt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous baby quilt. Love the toilet paper roll quilt. The cookies look yummy.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of the baby quilt and with the Minkee on the back it must be so soft and cuddly. And that toilet paper quilt is one to go down in history, no doubt. I'm sure your in-laws had a good laugh! Has the TP situation normalised where you are? Luckily we have now plenty again in the stops. And of course your second ukulele pillow is as amazing as the first was. You're so clever. And you've got such nice neighbours. Those cookies look delectable and the ones with the jam in the middle remind me of the biscuits I make at Christmas. Always a hit with the family. x
ReplyDeleteLove the latest baby quilt! The cool blues in the fabric are so soothing!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the fabric name and manufacturer of the Star baby quilt? It’s great!
ReplyDeleteYou are a no-reply blogger :( I finally found the last bit of that material. It is 'Fluttering By' S#04422 A Hoffman Spectrum Print by Hoffman California-International Fabrics c2017 www.hoffmanfabrics.com
Deletepeggibarrett808@yahoo.com - I love your take on the panel quilt! There are several in my stash just waiting to be used, and this looks like a good one to use. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletepeggibarrett808@yahoo.com - I forgot to mention that I have my mom's featherweight (1938, I think), and my first Pfaff (1956, so I guess it qualifies as an antique now). I haven't used either one recently, but they definitely are in working order.
